"In spite of being called the last installment in the series, rumblings have floated our way saying The Final Destination isn't the end and a fifth chapter is now being mulled over."
Shocking! Funny how two weekends at number one at the box office change their previous sorts of dire proclamations for the series. And I know this will shock you too, but that sounds fine by me.
Although I will admit, in the spirit of a sane mind (not that what I have could ever be called that, but every so often some of the crazy fog clears... somewhat), that upon my second viewing of TFD this weekend - yes, I went back, and I did so gleefully - its flaws did hit me a little harder than they did upon my first admittedly ridiculously enthusiastic take. Not enough to keep me from cackling at the good bits of course, but the sporadic stabs at "character" "development" struck a little more painful and slight this go-round. But it's all love still. All love. LOVE goddamit.
And I maintain my need for this series to never ever end. Ever. It is my oxygen. I will die without it! Die! Do you want me to die? Don't answer that. Or if you do answer it at least promise me a Rube Goldbergian death worthy of this series of films.

Honestly, who even makes a slatted fence like that? And something that's made me crazy in all sorts of movies for years: Nail guns have safety mechanisms that must be depressed before the gun can fire. a free-hanging nail gun will not fire no matter how many times it is jostled against the floor.
The film merely joins a list of movies such as The Final Nightmare and The Final Friday as horror franchises that claimed to be ending, but which quickly turned around and kept on going when the box office receipts proved so filling to the studio coffers.
