I Am Link

.
--- Anti Social - So the casting for David Fincher's next film, The Social Network - the movie about Facebook and its founders - has begun and it's one smile and a pair of shrugs. Andrew Garfield, so wonderful in Boy A, brings the smile, while I really just don't like Jesse Eisenberg (although I am hoping Zombieland changes that, because I love that trailer) and I would have sexual relations with Justin Timberlake but haven't found him an agreeable actor outside of SNL, so those two are the pair of shrugs. Meh?

--- Bryan Bean Stalker - Well this came out of nowhere: Bryan Singer is going to direct Jack the Giant Killer, about... well I assume y'all can tell what it's about. Random. I wonder what this means for his also-bizarre Battlestar Galactica reboot.

--- Sweet Valley Homeskillet - Everybody's favorite punching-bag Diablo Cody is going to produce and script a film version of the Sweet Valley High series of books. I am sure much laughter will be wrung from the fluffiness and unabashed girlishness of such an endeavor. Hardy har. Girls are silly things!

--- The Nefarious Moriarty - Is Brad Pitt going to be the villain in a second Sherlock Holmes movie? And will I ever start giving a shit about the first one which isn't out yet but I already wish I'd stop seeing previews for? Unless Watson drops his kit I am so not interested.

--- The Ultimate Cut - I warned y'all when the first DVD edition of Watchmen was coming out to skip it and wait for this news, so I hope you did - a big honking Special Edition has just been announced and I think this is probably the way to go if you're a fan of the movie like I was. It's out on November 3rd and looks totally, totally awesome.

--- Bulky Mark, Skinny Bale - There's a big gallery of shots from David O. Russell's upcoming film The Fighter up over here, including Marky Mark in the ring, Christian Bale looking frightening, and everything swallowed whole by Melissa Leo's hair. Hair!!!

--- And finally
, I mentioned the Spielberg bit out of this story yesterday but this piece at the LAT on the horror-movie-of-the-moment Paranormal Activity is a must-read if you're curious about the background and behind-the-scenes story of the film, which has had a curious (to put it lightly) run up to the Midnight screenings beginning tomorrow. Tomorrow! Yeehaw!

Well, it's not like they kept it a secret. They were talking about both a Directors cut and the ultimate cut. Snyder actually considers the initial DVD/Blu-Ray release his preferred cut and it is the true directors cut. He is doing this version simply because he knows there are people who wanted it.
