Good Morning, World

.

And a good morning to you too, Daniel Craig. And hey, I like the sound of this!

"The Road" and "The Proposition" writing/directing team of Joe Penhall and John Hillcoat respectively are planning an English remake of Claude Lelouch's 1973 French heist pic "La Bonne Annee" reports Variety.

The pair are tailoring the project as a vehicle for James Bond star Daniel Craig who would play a criminal recently released from prison who hatches a plan to rob jewelers in Cannes.

Penhall and Craig previously worked together on 2000's "Some Voices" and 2004's "Enduring Love". Hillcoat has also been talking to Craig about an adaptation of Nick Cave's novel "The Death of Bunny Munro" about a sex-obsessed traveling salesman on his final road trip."

(via) I've not seen La Bonne Annee so it wasn't until the mention of Enduring Love that my eyes really perked up - y'all might remember that I hold that film in very high esteem. And I liked The Proposition very much. Like most of the world I can't say either way on The Road yet but I hold out hope on that one. Anyway, I take Craig any way I can get him. Straight up, twist of lime, on the rocks in next to nothing... that whole "sex-obsessed" bit sounds grand as well.
