Mo' Pics

There are a few pictures making the rounds of the interwebs today that I feel I ought to snatch up and pin down here myself. So this is me doing that.

Firstly, here are a couple of new-to-me shots (via) from Joe Johnston's The Wolfman, a film which has a trailer that I do believe will be appearing this weekend. You can read a description of the trailer right here. For now, the photographs:

There are a few more shots at that link, but... how do I put this delicately? Emily Blunt... that is not your best angle. It reminds me of that line you said in The Devil Wears Prada actually, about being one stomach flu away from your goal weight. Just sayin'!

Secondly, here's a nifty shot (via) from the set of Edgar Wright adaptation of Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World (yeah, it's still shooting - how long is this movie shooting for? It's been ages!):

I dunno really what's going on here - strumming in space! - but it looks neat-o all the same. Man alive I cannot wait for this flick!

And lastly, I'm not stealing any of these to plop here but you should head over to my bud Sean's site to see some art-work of his bud Matt's doing for a "video summary" of Lil' Georgie Orwell's Nineteen Eighty-Four. The images therein are really really terrific.

You know that I love your blog, but I am going to have to request that you never again even hint at saying something mean about Ms. Blunt. It's just a bad angle, not her, mkay?

That said, this movie looks awesome and I hope it's better than Van Helsing.

Aww, I have nothing against Miss Blunt. She seems lovely and she was very funny in Prada. Actually now that I'm thinking about it though there are a lot of people that I see online that seem to worship her and can I ask why? I mean I think all I've ever seen her in is Prada and I did think she was great there (ETA I saw her in that Jane Austen Book Club movie and liked her there too) but that's not enough for me to justify loving her quite yet. I guess she's been in other things, that Sunshine Cleaning movie, and has Young Victoria come out or what? I don't know. Like I said I have nothing against her, just my exposure's been limited.

And yes I agree it's just a bad - incredibly bad - angle in that pic; I was just gently teasing and it gave me an excuse to use that line from Prada which I loved.

No offense taken and I use that line all the time (this is where I'd add a smiley face emoticon if I was that kind of person.)

Like many British actors, she did her most interesting work before she came to Hollywood. My Summer of Love is a great movie that made her a lesbian icon (plus it's got Paddy Considine!) In Gideon's Daughter she has a small part as Bill Nighy's child. There's a scene where she sings a song at a school assembly that just gives me the shivers every time. Actually she does that a lot--shows up in a small role, steals the scene, and makes you wish the movie was about her character from that point on (Charlie Wilson's War, Dan in Real Life, Prada.)

Also, she voiced a role on The Simpsons where she and Lisa basically re-enact Heavenly Creatures.
