I Am Link

.
--- Hell Cursed - There's a terrific piece at EW by Owen Gleiberman wondering why Drag Me To Hell hasn't stirred up much business box-office-wise. He comes up with a good possibility - the PG-13 rating alienated the horror base (horror fans to lack of gore is like Republicans to abortion or gays apparently). Choice quote:

"In a sane world, the image of a gypsy crone vomiting maggots onto Alison Lohman’s face would be sick enough for the room."

Indeed. But he's missing the obvious culprit - I was excited about it. And everything I'm excited about flops. EVERYTHING. Do not cater to me, film-makers; my interest is the kiss of death.

--- It's A Treat - BD has a list of festivals that Michael Dougherty's forever-and-ever delayed horror-anthology film Trick'r'Treat will be playing as of this Summer with many more supposedly to be announced. No place in NYC yet, UGH, but it also says the DVD will be out in October.

--- Plan Forgotten - Ever since BSG ended I've had to take a mental break from the show, it took up so very much of my brain for so long there, but that led to me completely forgetting that there's two more hours to come - namely the Jane Espenson-written and Edward James Olmos-directed Cylon-centric movie The Plan that's out in September. Olmos talks it up to SciFiWire.

--- Three-Dee Eyes - James Cameron thinks we're pussies if 3D bothers our eyes. He has contact lenses that allow him to watch movies in 3D. Good grief.

--- And Speaking Of Jim, he has signed on to direct one of the segments in a new version of Heavy Metal. Also signed on are David Fincher, Zach Snyder, and Gore Verbinski. !!!

Plus there are apparently three more big-name directors that they can't name yet because they haven't actually signed the dotted line yet but are definitely attached. Bonkers.

--- And finally, everything you ever wanted to know about Zach Galifianakis' supposed erect penis in the closing credits of The Hangover can be found at this link. Well, everything except for a picture. Which... is fine.
