Friends To The End

.

Did you ever think to yourself after watching Shaun of the Dead, "Man, wouldn't it be cool if somebody took that whole last scene where - spoiler - Shaun's got his buddy Ed, now a zombie, chained up in his tool-shed just so he can keep hanging out and playing video games just like they always used to, and made that scene into a movie of its own?" Well apparently somebody did have that thought and turned it into an actual movie called The Revenant - starring David Anders! I love David Anders! - and now it's something we will all be seeing sometime soon.

Harry Knowles caught an early version at CineVegas and reviewed it in typically deranged, rambling geek-out fashion. Choice quote:

"... the friendship as played between David Anders and Chris Wylde is note fucking perfect. Wylde's JOEY is a consummate best friend that doesn't want to lose his best friend again. And it doesn't matter if his best friend pukes black blood on his carpet and dining room table. It doesn't matter if he has to find blood for him, so they can still be tight. It doesn't matter if every night they have to kill someone and drain them of blood - because goddammit, that's what best friends do for one another!"

The movie has a website already, and I have to admit I am curious. I'll keep my ear to the ground...
