One False Move, Golden Globes

Apparently the Golden Globes decided that my relative disinterest in the awards season this year just wouldn't do, and tried to make love to me via their ceremony last night. Mickey Rourke beating Sean Penn? Oh yeah. Laura Dern winning for her preening mad woman posturing in Recount? Mmhmm. Tina Fey all over the place? Damn yeah. Colin Farrell winning for In Bruges? That's the spot. Kate Winslet twice! OH BABY.

But then they had to go and try some bullshit I didn't like, that Slumdog Millionaire crap, and everything ended with awkwardness. No good, Golden Globes. No good.

Wha-hoo? Slumdog hating? You are so lucky that you post the best ass shots on the internet ... otherwise I'd so boycott you for ten minutes.

Asses are bringing the world together!

Seriously though, I didn't hate Slumdog, but it's being wildly overpraised and that's driving me to hate on it. Dannny Boyle has made much better films before; I thought SM was sloppy.

Why are people going gaga over "Slumdog Millionaire"?

Although I love Slumdog Millionaire, I have to wonder if it's getting the major award attention partially because Danny Boyle's made plenty of excellent movies before that didn't any, because they were the wrong genre, or too small at the time, whatever.
