The Moment I Fell For... Julianne Moore

.
"That is a giant cock."
Oh sure, I could've gone with her epic death-by-greenhouse moment in The Hand That Rocks the Cradle, or her pants-off dance-off in Short Cuts, but if I'm being honest with myself there's just something that clicked into place the first time I heard her say "cock." She really works those syllables to create something special, ya know?

Dude, not matter you do with your mouth, or what Ms. Moore does to the English language, there is still only ONE syllable in cock! xx

Then you're just not doing it right.

I can totally get two syllables. That terminal "-ck" makes a back-of-the-tongue sound against the soft palate.

I like a different line from that scene: "As you may or may not know, this is an important film for me. If it's not a hit, I'm gonna get kicked out of my apartment."

I haven't seen this movie in a couple years I think, but I can immediately hear every bit of this dialogue coming out of her mouth. That stilted delivery = hysterical.

I'm just glad I got a little Amber Waves action today.

"Will you be my mom?"

I fell for her in this movie as well, but in a different scene. The camera tracks through the house and ends on her, in the bedroom, doing a line of coke. I find it so glamorous and vulnerable.

I adore Julianne Moore, such a good actress and so good in everything I've seen her in except Freedomland (sorry). She rocked as Amber Waves. It would be nice if she eventually wins an Oscar.

HA! Yeah, that's probably my most-quoted line from that movie. I think I read an interview with John C. Reilly where he asked her how she switched to such bad acting (I guess it's hard to be a good actor and act badly?) and Moore said she was just thinking about what her next line was. I love her.

Mine is the pantless scene in Short Cuts.

It's funny, I was just watching Boogie Nights on the plane the other day. I do loves me that movie.
