A Pair Of Turkeys Films Coinciding With The Thanksgiving Holiday

.

In just two days (even less if we want to be a stickler about hours and shit), two of the movies that I'm most looking forward to of this winter season will be upon us: Baz Luhrmann's Australia and Gus Van Sant's Milk. Hooray for serious-minded awards-baiting single-worded titles!

I'm trying to figure out my week's schedule just now - it's looking damned crowded between now and stuffing my face-hole with mashed potatoes - and trying to figure out when I will get around to seeing these movies.

Which got me wondering: what is y'all's plans with regards to seeing 'em? Is one film a higher priority than the other? Or would you rather have boiling hot water poured into your eye sockets like a sad-faced Indian street-urchin than watch either/both of them?

I think I'm leaning towards a higher priority for Milk right this second, if only because the boyfriend commands it so (he no likey Baz). Ooh and this offers the excuse to post this pic of Jimmy Franco that I'd been looking for:

But I will find time for Hugh Jackman's hot bod too,
before the week is through, of that have no doubt!

And then, if I find a couple more hours to spare...

What can I say? I'm easy,
and Jason Statham is hot. So hot.

Definitely go see Milk (first!) because it is an amazing, wonderful and lovely movie. I saw it at a preview screening a couple of weeks ago. It's fabulous!

It's also made all the more heart wrenching due to the recent events in California...

We have to wait until JANUARY to see Milk in Australia. Jan-u-fucking-ary!!! Not happy.

Australia, easily. Even if I lived somewhere that would actually have Milk this week, Australia comes first. Plus, I can't see Milk (I explained why on my blog). *sigh*

Ok - those are well and good, but why is no one talking about Were the World Mine?

Milk. I'm already pissed I'm gonna have to wait five days til I get back to see it. And I've lost almost all the enthusiasm I'd built up for Australia, for some reason.

Prospero, I saw the trailer for Were the World Mine a few weeks ago and it was OFF THE CHAIN. Like a little gay science experiment. Cannot wait.

I've had my tickets to see Australia on the 26th for a month now. Alas, I don't even have the option to see Milk yet :(

I haven't seen any of the trailers for WTWM yet, but... I dunno man. It has singing and from what I can tell... eye-glitter. Shudder. I have heard some interesting stuff about it but it's a tough sell for me. Plus, the same person that I work with whose opinion I do not value that was going on and on about Slumdog was also going on and on about WTWM, which he also saw this weekend, and that is not a point in either film's credit column, believe you me.
