Coraline Went Exploring...

.

Hooray! We finally have a trailer for Henry Selick's stop-motion adaptation of Neil Gaiman's book Coraline! And ohmygod it does not disappoint. This thing looks like it's gonna be one of the most visually masterful cinematic experiences coming out next year. It just looks amazing. It seems as if they found some stunning ways to pad out a very brief story into feature-length, too. And it's going to be in 3D! I might lose all control of my bowels watching this movie, I swear. I took way too many screen-grabs from the trailer which you can see here below, although I'd suggest watching the trailer first. It rules in motion.

That moment when Coraline opens the gift-box and sees the needle and buttons is the stuff children are scarred over for all their life. I love it! Both this and Spike Jonze's Where the Wild Things Are will be feeding little ones nightmares next year! Hooray!

Coraline is out on February 6th, 2009.
