Quote of the Day

.;
STYD spoke to The Only Candyman That Will Ever Matter, Mr. Tony Todd, about the plans for a remake that were announced recently. He's obviously incredulous to the "make him white" idea that was supposedly bandied about, and when they ask him if he'd want to reprise the role himself if they chose that direction instead, he said:

"You can only go to the well so many times. I was never interested in a versus movie. [Another studio] actually suggested to me a Candyman vs. Leprechaun at one point." Todd follows with an incredulous laugh, "I'd kick him in his ass! Look, it's about profitability, most of these movies now are reinventions but there's no longevity. I could live forever with the thought of what we did with the first two Candyman films just fine."

As far as I'm concerned, Tony Todd is Candyman. You can make another movie, maybe explore his origin a little more, but I just don't see why they'd even have to recast it. They have a wealth of creepiness inherent in Mr. Todd. Just point a camera at him and let it roll, man. He opens his mouth and fear itself tumbles out.
