Ich Bin Drei Verbindungen

.
--- The tide seems to be turning in Valkyrie's favor, which seems sane enough to me - Bryan Singer's a fine filmmaker, and even if the sight of Tom Cruise now makes the collective world cringe, I'm still looking forward to this movie. Word from screenings has been getting better, and now the flick has been moved back into 2008 - December 26th, to be exact. Does the studio think they have award season prospects? Or is it just counter-programming? Honestly... I don't care. I just hope it's a rousing good time. Kicking Nazi butt never grows tired, from where I'm standing.

--- Have you ever read the Fitzgerald story that Fincher's Benjamin Button is based off of? I have not, and have decided to wait until I see the movie to do so. Cinematical compares the two today.

--- Celebrating Scissorhands - Low Resolution gives good photo-essay to Tim Burton's Edward Scissorhands... amazing how easily I can cue up Danny Elfman's gorgeous score in my mind to play alongside the images. Magical.

--- There's a rumble brewing between the Iron Man and Dark Knight camps, and I find myself torn - while I always want to side with Justin Theroux (he who will write Iron Man 2)... I really did prefer The Dark Knight to his flick. It's okay, Justin. This is nothing we can't work out over a few bottles of bourbon and some oil wrestling.

Justin is writing the second ironman, he didn't do the first. So you are no longer torn. Ironman was weak, stupid weak

Since when do you correct me on these sorts of things? Man, I'm slipping.

Anyway, it's fixed.

And yes, Iron Man stunk. Mostly. It had its moments. I liked Gwyneth.
