The Wachowskis Must Love Tom Tykwer

I was just looking through some pictures from Speed Racer for no reason (beyond the crippling boredom I am currently toiling beneath, of course) and stumbled upon a new-to-me discovery: both Benno Fürmann and Moritz Bleibtreu are in this movie!

Who, you may be asking? Well Moritz, amongst other things, was the male lead in Tom Tykwer's Run Lola Run (Manni!). And Benno, amongst other things, was the male lead in Tom Tykwer's The Princess and the Warrior. (Both opposite that bastion of awesomeness Franke Potente, of course.)

I love these two dudes. I've devoted a gratuitous post to Moritz already, and am shocked to discover as of this instant that I have never gotten around to doing the same for Benno (must rectify; will soon). I have no idea what their roles amount to in the film - Benno is listed as "Inspector Detector" and Moritz is "Grey Ghost" - but it makes total sense that the Wachowskis would be a fan of Tykwer's aesthetic (especially Lola), and then throw these fine lookin' fellas into their international coterie of hotness. Add Karl Yune and Rain to the mix...

... not even to mention Emile Hirsch and Matthew Fox, and this supposed kid's movie sure is heavy on the man-candy. Hmm, I guess my pal Sean is right... my blind-spot for this film's success becomes gayer and gayer by the day...
