Pic of the Day

.

Via EW comes our first official picture of Sean Penn in Gus Van Sant's Harvey Milk biopic, Milk. At that first link there's also this (probably unintentionally) funny quote from the film's producer:

"[Sean] is playing a guy who's not at all like him, way beyond the sexuality of the character. Harvey was this guy who wants everybody to love him, and he loves everybody else. Sean just completely became that guy. It's a real transformation."

Sean Penn convincingly playing a lovable nice guy? He's got the Oscar wrapped up then; sounds like a performance for the ages.

I am champing at the bit (puns might be tempting, but don't do it) to see this fucking thing.

Sean Penn is capable of riveting performances. Love "My Own Private Idaho," "Drugstore Cowboy" and The Death Trilogy. There's no way Van Sant can fuck this up and turn it into another run-of-the-mill biopic.
