I Am Tri-Link

.
--- Ripley No Repeat - MTV talked to Sigourney Weaver about James Cameron's Avatar, and asked her if the good doctor she plays therein maybe has any similarities to that ass-kickingest of ass-kickers Ellen Ripley who sprung from Siggy & Jimmy's last collaboration.

She says... no. Sigh. She gives up some details on the movie I'd not yet heard though, including mucho hints as to what an "avatar" is (and if you read the comments on the linked post you'll learn even more).

--- Life After Love - Apologies if I get the Cher ditty "Believe" stuck in anyone's head here, but the revelation of the actual X-Files 2 official title (via STYD) has got it stuck in mine. Anyway, drumroll 'n all, the official title is The X-Files: I Want To Believe. I hope the movie's good, because that title opens up a world of titles for the reviews of pun-happy critics.

--- What Would Angela Chase Do? - God bless Rich at FourFour for this post on how he prefers My So Called Life's Angela Chase to Juno's Juno MacGuff... he and I agree word for word on why the former is so much more interesting than the latter, even while neither of us are total haters on Juno the movie. Rich includes a video tribute to Angela's wisdom, including this shining piece of brilliance:

"I cannot bring myself to eat a well-balanced meal in front of my mother. It just means too much to her. I mean, if you stop to think about, like, chewing. What it really is. How people just do it. Like, in public."

Even though it was only a few months ago when I plunked down and re-watched all of MSCL again on DVD, this post made me want to do it all over again. Angela 4-Eva!!!

Yes, that Cher song is now on repeat in my brain. But for the moment, it's a welcome change!

ugh, I think I hate the title.... was that really the best they could come up with? and you are so right that it leaves itself open to endless critic puns.... "I want to believe... that I didn't pay to see the X-files movie" by George Grella. I can see it now. I hate him. I think he gave "Street Kings" a good review in the paper this week. I couldn't even really tell, it was a big puddle of pretentious blech. I probably shouldn't be making fun of him, I think he has cancer or something... i'm going to hell.
