--- Camp Crystal Lake by way of... Austin? Doesn't it seem odd that they're shooting the Friday the 13th remake in Austin, Texas? I mean, I've never been to Austin so perhaps there are good woody parts of town, but I don't really think of deeps woods when I think of Austin. I think... Texas Chainsaw Massacre territory. Which was director Marcus Nispel's last horror remake. I don't know. Just seems odd to me. Seems like Friday the 13th would be shot in the Northeast. Although I must begrudgingly admit - I'm a poseur alert! - I have no idea where Camp Crystal Lake is supposed to be; I always just placed it up this way.
--- Juno 2: The ReHomeSkilleting - Was anyone clamoring for a sequel to Juno? The thought had never once occurred to me, but apparently, now that it's a money-maker, the thought occurred to somebody. Thankfully director Jason Reitman seems as flummoxed by the suggestion as I am.
--- The Pushed Backward Frontier - JJ Abrams Star Trek reimagineering has been shifted from Christmas this year to May of 2009. Which I think means they have faith in its ability to pillage the populace's pocketbooks, right?
--- Tonight at the Berlin Film Festival they're holding The Teddy Awards, which honor this year's Queer Cinema, and Band of Thebes did a kick-ass job highlighting all the entries. Loads of interesting stuff to behold, including a clip of Javier Bardem from last year's ceremony wearing, um, fake eyelashes. Those nutty foreign men!
--- Lost in the Indiana Shuffle, another much-anticipated-by-me trailer appears online today - the trailer for David Gordon Green's The Pineapple Express, a stoner comedy starring James Franco that marks Green's somewhat-strange entry into the Judd Apatow friendship-circle.

I think you're right re CCL...it's supposed to be somewhere in New York, I believe...I think there are New York plates sometimes...maybe other NY indicia, too, that elude me at the moment...the proximity to Manhattan bolsters this theory, no?
Yes, you've never been to Austin - though I live in San Francisco, I have family in Austin and it's nothing but woods, lakes
Actually Friday the 13th(1) was filmed in Blairstown, NJ and if I recall, NJ license plates can be seen in the first film.
That's right! It was Jersey...not York...definitely not the same thing ;o)
