I Am (Delayed) Link

Wow sorry, Blogger's been down for me for the past hour. I tried to post this before... here goes again...

--- Here's Where The Wild Things Are - AICN has got that clip from Spike Jonze's Where The Wild Things Are up right now, though who knows how long it'll be there; apparently the studio's been pulling the video left and right ever since it showed up last week (and Nat brought it to my attention, though I missed it that time). It's obviously not fan-made, and Moriarty at AICN says as much, he having seen the film already. I don't know why they'd pull it - it doesn't give away any plot or anything, and it's driven my expectations for the film through the roof. It's beautiful for one, and in the minute and a half or so long that it runs it gave me a world of feeling and tone, and made me crave the entire thing right this second. This clip would make for a glorious, albeit unusual, trailer in itself.

--- Strangers No More - Anybody remember The Strangers? Mostly memorable so far for its terrific retro-poster, it's that home-invaders horror flick starring Scott Speedman and Liv Tyler that sounded exactly like a remake of the French film Ils (Them) but wasn't a remake at all? Yeah, I'd practically forgotten about it too, they'd shifted the release so much. But now it's got a date which will hopefully stick: May 30th of this year.

--- On The Ruins - BD posted a tidbit of an interview they did with Carter Smith, the director of the upcoming The Ruins. Smith also makes mentiuon of two projects he'd like to tackle next, both horror-related, one which he calls a "cross between E.T. and Lolita"... okay... anyhoo, The Ruins is out April 4th.
