From Roger's Lips...

.
Roger Ebert officially owns the Oscars now, right? Like, after he steamrolled Crash to Best Picture victory a couple years back, what he says goes, correct? Well, in this instance I'm hoping so. He's done his predictions for who'll leave the theater with a little gold man in their clammy paws, and nevermind that he predicted Ellen Page to win for Best Actress, here's where I hope he's right:

"ORIGINAL SONG

Prediction: "Falling Slowly" from "Once," not just for the song but for the manner of its presentation. The three nominees from "Enchanted" will cancel one another out.

Dark horse: "Raise It Up" from "August Rush."

I know, I know, I've argued this before, and come down on the side of the Academy never getting these things right and August Rush walking away with the trophy. But one can hope, and now I've filtered all my hopes into Ebert's weird witching abilities. Don't let me down, Rog!

Wisdom should dictate that Once walks away with the Oscar; but there is no denying that Alan Menken has a lot of Academy love. Plus, some of the Best Song choices in recent years have been slightly odd.

I'm more worried that most voters will assume everyone else will vote No Country for Best Picture so they'll vote Juno causing it to sneak in and take the win.
