Another Gratuitous Weekend

Looks like we've got another weekend ahead of us here that's chock full of manliness. Let's take a look at what's coming out tomorrow, testosterone-wise...

Definitely, Maybe - Ryan Reynolds charms my pants off... no seriously Ryan Reynolds, take my pants off! Ahem. Ryan Reynolds charms the audiences - and suprisingly, the critics - collective pants off with this wee romantic tale of a father extolling the virtues of threesomes to his daughter, played by Abby "I can make JA cry without even trying" Breslin.

(No, I will NEVER get tired of looking at pictures
of RR in Amityville Horror)

Step Up 2: The Streets - You know what I like even less than musicals? Dance movies. When somebody's up there onscreen "getting their groove thang on" I want nothing more than to tear all of my skin off and cram it down my throat until I choke. Still it appears that the delectable Channing Tatum, uber-star of the original Step Up, makes what appears to be a cameo here.

And then there's the matter of this Robert Hoffman fellow, who does indeed, as the chick in the trailer keeps telling me, look like he's trying to bring the boy-bands back on his tiny sloped shoulders. But he could maybe do in a pinch. Plus, the below picture is kinda adorable and makes me want to like him, despite this movie:

The Spiderwick Chronicles - You know who's kinda sexy that I never give any thought to? (No, I am not about to perv out over Freddie Highmore, you can stop dialing the authorities) David Strathairn. It's that voice, I think. Anyway, he plays Arthur Spiderwick here... I guess the fellow who wrote the "Chronicles" or whatever, I haven't read this series. And yes, the second photo below is a super long time ago (1991 to be exact), but he was looking good there.

Jumper - The critics are not being kind, but Doug Liman has yet to make a movie I haven't liked, and then there's the matter of the movie's male stars... Hayden Christensen is a little bit too pretty pretty for my tastes, but he does have his moments...

And, well, what do I need to say on the matter of Jamie Bell? Nothing, that's what.

Eh....I saw Jumper earlier today. It's short (83 min) and riddled with plot issues. Jamie Bell gives the movie some energy as Hayden does his wooden acting thing again. Even the eye candy quotient was lower than I was hoping.
