ARGH!!!

What a nightmare getting to the office was today! Let's see, we had some rain so.... let me approximate this... ah, yes, NO SUBWAY TRAINS ARE RUNNING. Makes perfect sense, no?

It's a bit of an exaggeration (but not much; check out this post at Towleroad). I was able to, after standing in the thousand-degree sauna of a station for forty-five minutes and letting about twelve trains go by because they were too crowded, get on one train by elbowing an old man in the face, which brought me to Times Square. From Times Square... yeah, nothing. I got on a train, stood there for ten minutes, and they announced, whattya know, the station we're in is the last stop! Well that was a fun ride. So I walked. From Times Square. To the West Village. That's... fifty blocks? Give or take. Whee! And it's 90 degrees now and humid as hell itself!

In good news, I think I maybe lost 10 lbs. this morning.

You must love your job. If someone told me I had to walk 50 city blocks (and our blocks are nothing like New York City blocks, from what I gather...you'd laugh) to get to work, I'd call in. Period, end of discussion. Unless they were going to provide a shower facility for me when I got here. No, not even then. It's just too damn steamy out.

Glad you made it there alive. And happy birthday, JA's boyfriend!
