When I think of
Charles Nelson Reilly, I think of what everybody else probably does - of his endless game shows stints from the 1970's, on
The Match Game and
Hollywood Squares. He was also probably what I first, at least subconsciously, came to recognize as being "gay" meant, at least in the way he was presenting himself back when it was still not totally kosher to be one's big ol' gay self on TV.

But I also think of one of my all-time-favorite skits from SNL, with Will Ferrell doing his James Lipton
Inside the Actor's Studio schtick, interviewing Alec Baldwin doing a
hilarious Reilly impression. It has one of my most-quoted bits of dialogue that can be inserted into any conversation to spice things up,
"...and then Betty White laughed so hard her boob popped out."You can
watch the SNL video over at The Malcontent. It's positively scrumtrulescent. CNR
died of complications from pneumonia at 76 last Friday.
