I Am Wednesday's Mega-Link

--- Flat Time, the Panopticon, and the Planet of the Apes... if you can't stop thinking about Lost's season finale last week - and I certainly can't - then head over and read Doc Jenson's last Lost column at EW for a good while, in which he does what he does and slaps a million theories against the wall and sees what might stick. Covered are all the topics that linger on one's mind, including Shephard Sr.'s seeming future-resurrection.

--- Ask and ye shall receive - I asked for an mp3 of Sufjan Stevens' new song, called "In the Words of the Governor," yesterday, and some kindhearted, anonymous soul left a link in the comments to The Rawking Refuses To Stop!, a music blog that has the mp3. I did listen to the song last evening and it's a definite throwback to A Sun Came-era Sufjan, meaning loud and garage-band-ish, so a bit of an about-face from the delicate banjo plucking he's been up to as of late. But y'all ought to know Sufjan's proficient at every instrument/sound on Earth by now, right?

--- Just cuz - JJ's got a bunch of pics of Eric Bana at a press conference in Sydney for his upcoming indie-pic Romulus, My Father. And he's Eric Bana, so you know he looks good. Gooooood.

--- So this'll be straight-to-DVD, right? 90's male-model/artifact Marcus Schenkenberg said, on Dutch TV (via Coming Soon):

"... he went to Cannes last week and booked four new movie roles. One thing that stood out was Terminator 4 and he also mentioned that Schwarzenegger would have a 30-sec cameo."

I suppose I could see Schenkenberg as a sort of male version of the Kristinna Loken fem-bot from the third film, but only in some sort of "Made for the SciFi channel" movie-version, so his casting does not instill hope in the direction this series could be heading.

--- The Slaughter Parade - a director's been found for the remake of The Virgin Spring The Last House on the Left, and apparently the script will be totally retooled (good) and the story will be made "softer" (bad). I mean... why even bother? If you're not gonna make this thing for fifty bucks and offend even people like me with it, I mean.

--- The Sooner the Potter - Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix's release date just moved ahead two whole days - rejoice! - to Wednesday, July 11th; says DH:

""There could be a number of reasons why: to gain the upper-hand on the preceding tentpole Transformers and two extra days to push it up to $300 million. Warner Bros. may want to give it extra space from the release of the final book "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" coming out on the 21st of July."

Also, in that same link at DH, they say that the first trailer for I Am Legend (which I've spoken of plenty) should show up next Friday online and playing along with Ocean's Thirteen (and it still won't get me to go see O13).

--- The Gorgeous Ladies of Summer - TFE runs down the sizzlin' women we'll see onscreen over the next few months, and gives my lady love, Anna Faris a shout-out. Now if they could just let us know when Smiley Face will come out already.
