Gratuitous Danny Dyer

I know nothing about Danny Dyer other than he's a British actor who's in the movie Severance (described as "'The Office' meets Deliverance," I've been looking forward to it for ages and it's finally being released here in NYC this weekend), that he's nine days younger than me, and also that he is wicked adorable and is often apparently doffing all of his clothes for his roles and photoshoots. Both of these factors - the movie, the adorable oft-nakedness - are enough for me to feature a bunch of gratuitous pictures of him today. It don't take much!

Anyone seen him in anything? I keep hearing he's quite a lot of fun onscreen. I guess I'll find out when I see Severence this weekend.

ETA he's also admitted "gay leanings" if you will; from that issue of Attitude that a bunch of the above pics are from:

"The Football Factory star - who once dated actress/singer Billie Piper and has a young daughter with his current girlfriend - insists he is comfortable among gay people and suggests he has been tempted to try it out himself.

He said: "It's sweet if you like a bit of c**k. You know, I've had me moments. I've had me f**king moments."

When pressed further, Dyer clammed up, insisting: "We'll leave it at that.""

Tease.

What a tease...funny that he dated Billie Piper, a girl I'm a fan of who needs to dye her eyebrows

I did see that, rj - so effing weird. Somehow I doubt he'll be starring in it. But then, who'd have guessed that his fellow Scientologist closet-case John Travolta would be taking the Divine role in Hairspray? I think this drag thing might be some new sort of Scientology agenda. Step 2 in their insane plan. Who can guess what they're driving towards. Maybe they want to make it rain doughnuts.

And argh, you know who all these people are? Are you in the UK?

Being a Brit I have seen in a few things... I quite liked him his Severance, where his cocky-twat persona works quite well (since, you know, they're all getting attacked), but he was in Straightheads (with Gillian Anderson) recently, which to be fair was dreadful in almost every way (except for Gillian), but I could barely stand him in that. He doesn't have the best reputation over here.

Also, never knew he dated Billie Piper. She doesn't seem to have the best taste in men...

No, I'm not in the UK, but I wish I was daily. I know Billie Piper because (long story) my obsession with James Mcavoy led me to buy 'Shakespeare Retold' [http://www.amazon.co.uk/Shakespeare-ReTold-Sarah-Parish/dp/B000BND09E/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1/203-3213758-1468764?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1179429425&sr=8-1] a collection of 4 modern day Shakespeare retellings. Billie is in 'Much Ado About Nothing', and I liked her so I looked her up.

She used to be some sort of pop star but eventually started to act. She was in the new Dr. Who for a while. Her hair is OBVIOUSLY fake blond b/c her eyebrows are brown.

I like knowing about semi-obscure (to the US anyway) Brittish things. There's a BBC show from a few years ago I thoroughly invite you to research called 'Sinchronicity' about a guy in love with his bf's gf...and the best friend is having an affair with a male doctor. It's very funny, with great music, and has Jemima Rooper, Paul Chequer, and Daniel Percival.

I first saw him in Borstal Boy. While he was falling for Shawn Hatosy, I was falling for him. But that was before he got his bad boy reputation.

Billie Piper was the greatest popstar in the entire world for three minutes and eighteen seconds back in 2000 when she released "Day & Night". Phenomenal. Most of her other music is rubbish though (although "Honey to the Bee" is ridiculously catchy and it plays at my work all the time.)

But, yes, Billie was in Dr Who and has done some other acting things.

She also dated the fey one from rubbish UK boyband 5ive (Ritchie I believe). Were they big in America? Billie got booed at The Brits because she was dating him and that offended people for some reason. I'm a little fuzzy on the details.

But, still, "Day & Night" is pretty much the most amazing thing in the history of songs that has "Day" and "Night" in the title. It's still sorta cool that she didn't just fade into obscrurity like so many pop stars do. And, she actually quite a good actress. Who knew, right?

Oh, and I didn't mention this Dyer guy cause he ain't doin' anything for me.

He sure does like to show off his pubic hair though, doesn't he?

Jason Adams said...

Well, kc, I do think he probably usually has his pubes covered. I just happened to feature a lot of pictures where he was indeed showing it off. I don't know how that ever happened. ;-)

Was this Piper woman the main blonde woman sidekick on the new Doctor Who? Because I've caught bits and pieces of that (it's on before Battlestar on SciFi) and seen that woman before.

What would western civilization be without the bottle blonde?

I think I have a Billie Piper poster that came free in Top of the Pops in like 1999. I should find that :)

Billie played a companion on Doctor Who the same way Sarah Michelle Gellar played a girl who slayed vampires or Kristen Bell played a girl who solved crimes. For me at least it was like some kind of total character embodiment; that feeling that you're going to die right next to them in each season finale...

JA, I bet you'd love her two seasons of Doctor Who if you watched 'em in order and let the story arc wash over you--just bear in mind that there ARE a few painful clunkers thrown in there along the way.

Billie was cute in that adaptation of Philip Pullman's other book series, too, whatever that was called. The something and the ruby? The ruby something?

That's her ja.

Danny Dyer is so gorgeous, im unnaturally obsessed with him... He has been in a few good films, Severence, the business, football factory, to name a few, he always comes across as cheeky, slightly cocky, but a bit vulnerable at the same time. Gorgeous.

I completly forgot how cool that day and night song is!!!

I live in the UK and think Danny Dyer is wicked. Yeah some of his films aren't that great but he's a cutie!! Love the pics have showed my friend who also loves him and needed cheering up!!!

Thanks from both of us!!
