I Am Link

.

--- Blood Prom would've been a better title - Fangoria has some terrifically over-the-top gory pics from the shooting of a prom scene in the not-directed-by-Eli-Roth sequel, Cabin Fever 2: Spring Fever.

--- In actual Eli Roth-directed projects, Abattoir's got a brief and totally hysterical interview (via Sean) with Mr. Roth on just how he acheived that insanely weathered look for his Grindhouse faux-trailer called Thanksgiving. Says Roth (and this is just part of what they did to the negative):

"I oversaturated the colors, then we filmed the film – we filmed it three times. Then we took it – my brother Gabe and I and my assistant editor Brad Wilhite, and we threw it over the balcony into a fountain. Then we ran it up through the balcony, over concrete, stomping on it, spitting on it, scratching it; we ran it through a garden, through the mud; we spilled soda on it, chocolate on it; we ran it through paper clips. We tried to think of all the things that would have gotten spilled on it in a projection booth in some drive-in theatre, so we had soda, chocolate, popcorn grease, cigarettes. People were coming out of their offices and the whole courtyard looked like an Imax projector, with film everywhere, and people were burning it with cigarettes; it was hilarious."

--- By the hammer of Mahogany! The Movie Blog visits the set of the Clive Barker adaptation The Midnight Meat Train and gets to wield the awesome weapon personally. (thanks to The Horror Blog)

--- No Joss No - Joe R. at Low Resolution says what I'm incapable of saying in response to that interview I posted earlier this week with my-hero Joss Whedon and his sad state these days. I can't say I disagree... but I can't say I agree either! I's been brainwashed! I drank the Whedon-flavored Kool-Aid (tastes like bile and tears and rainbows) and there's no help for me.

--- The One With The Alien Spaceship - Electronic Cerebrectomy gives us some possible ways to end the TV show Lost that might satisfy the rabid geeks (of which I am most certainly one) who love it still.

And as a Lost-sidenote: they totally have me by the short-hairs again after the past several episodes, so good job, Cuse and Lindelof. And also, Evangeline Lilly has officially become a really good actress in my book. I thought she was terrible the first season, but she's most definitely won the title Most Improved.

Lilly's not bad, true, but after tonight it's hard not to sing the praises of Elizabeth Mitchell and Yunjin Kim.

Also, I've decided that you are the only reason my bizarre crush on Eli Roth persists. Please cease and desist so I can stop hating myself. Thanks!

Never! I see it as my eternal duty - til he pisses me off, which seems inevitable - to champion Eli Roth's hotness to the world.

Yunjin Kim and Elizabeth Mitchell are FANTASTIC, it's true, but they've never been less than fantastic in my eyes. Lilly was just an astonishingly pretty face to me at first, but she's really grown on me.
