On Neko Case

This is sort of dated news, but I just stumbled on some pictures (via Brooklyn Vegan) of a show I saw a couple of months ago, and oddly enough was thinking about this morning on my way to work; they're of Neko Case from a show back at the end of January in the spectacular Allen Room at Lincoln Center (see a show there if you ever have the chance!) here in NYC:

I was thinking of the show this morning because, well, for one it was a phenomonal show, and secondly, ever since the show I've been listening to her latest album, Fox Confessor Brings the Flood kinda non-stop, and it got me thinking about how a really good show like this one was can give you a whole new appreciation for someone's music.

Like, when I saw Spoon earlier this year, they pretty much sucked live, and now I think about that when I listen to their music; but Neko was so amazing in person that I appreciate her music even more now.

I know, this is all super-deep. Really I just wanted to share the pics. And tell y'all that if you aren't, you need to listen to Neko Case. That B-Vegan link, by the way, is for Neko's tour dates for this Summer, if ya wanna see what I'm raving about yourselves...

Moving along...

I love that album. A lot. I've not seen her perform. (I'm not sure I've seen a picture until now.) I heard a blip of "Margaret vs. Pauline" one day & was immediately hooked.

I'm beginning to think that I should make a tshirt or something as the first member of the "I like whatever JA likes" music club...

I hadn't really seen a good picture of Neko before seeing her in person and I have to say, she's really beautiful in person and for some reason that suprised me. I mean, I wasn't thinking she was a dog or anything, but it was more about falling in love with her astonishing voice first, so finding out that on top of that she's also incredibly lovely was just a bonus. My God - her skin! The most beautiful milky white...

Ahem. Anyway, you obviously have great taste then, Lulu. ;-) And I'm all for fun T-shirts!
