Greetings From Nowhere

Howdy, y'all, just thought I'd shout out hello, in case I was, ya know, missed n' stuff. I'm at my mother's house, have been since Saturday, which involves... a lot... of, well, laying around in a drooling stupor. Hope everyone's holidays were just as merry and/or bright!
.
If you look at the sidebar down below you can see I've watched a few movies that've been sitting in my Netflix queue for weeks, finally, including most recently Roman Polanski's The Tenant which.... ohmygod I loved it so very much. The boyfriend's been harping at me to watch it for ages, so I should've known I'd like it, he's usually been a good enough call on these things. But yeah, fantastic, and I know want to watch Repulsion and Rosemary's Baby immediately again. I also watched Polanski's first film, Knife in the Water, the other evening, which I also enjoyed thoroughly. It's a Polanski Christmas!
.
Well the only movie I actually watched on Christmas, you might say appropriately, was Scorsese's The Last Temptation of Christ, which felt like a straightforward Jesus biopic - though arguably the best one ever made - for the first 3/4 or so, and then became, from the Garden of Gethsemane on, an unstoppably great film. But I do feel sort of mixed about the first portion; it felt a little stale. But did Harvey Keitel get any Supporting Actor love for the movie? Because he was the best thing going; I wanted an entire movie about his Judas.
.
Coming up, I've got Mean Streets, United 93 (will I ever be able to make myself watch it?), A Scanner Darkly... I think my mother's gonna make me sit down and watch an xmas gift from me tomorrow, that being Gone With The Wind, which I've never seen from start to finish... also I've got Seven Samurai, The House of Mirth, and The Godfather Part II in the pile... ooh and I bought The Descent today and may not be able to keep myself from watching it again very soon.
.
So, as you can see, it's crunch time!
.
And by the by, I apologize for the old-fashioned link-less and pic-less nature of this post; my mother's computer is a - gasp! shudder! - PC and I just don't feel like figuring out the mechanics of getting technical things done in a different way... holiday break is for drooling, dammit! Not figuring things out.
.
Mmkay. I hope everyone's enjoying their week. I dunno if I'll be posting again til I'm back at work which is... oh, six days away now. Sweet. Love ya all! Keep on truckin!

I felt the same way about United 93, but I eventually made myself watch it and was so glad I did.

Also: pack a lunch for Gone With the Wind. A lunch and dessert.

I was surprised at how time flied while I watched Gone with the Wind.

Although, I amused myself by going to get a big bag of maltesers at intermission/disc side swap right after Vivien Leigh said she'll never go hungry. "SO SHALL I!"
