Fun With Serial Killing

///
My pal Sean pointed me to a wonderfully sick discussion over at The Horror Blog - What's your favorite horror movie weapon?

Reading through people's choices brought back wonderful memories of murderous mayhem - the room filled with barbed wire in Dario Argento's Suspiria is a real favorite of mine. I mean... wtf? Why is there a room filled with barbed wire in a girl's music school? So insane you've just gotta love it.

Sean chose the box from Hellraiser which is a terrific choice. Pinhead and the Cenobites still freak me the fuck out.

I have to give it some thought, there are so many (too many) options. The classic "Freddy's glove of knives" got two votes and it does stand the test of time as a great weapon, effective and disturbing on a primal level. That metal-on-metal scraping noise is maybe the single best sound-effect in horror in the past 25 years. Cuts you right to the bone (pun, unfortunately, intended).

I also love Rod from Bookgasm's choice of the recent exploitation of CG to slice and dice people into perfect symmetric cubes using lasers or wires like in Cube and Resident Evil - there's something terribly, disturbingly satisfying about it.

Sick post; sick sick post, I know. Time for lunch!
