David Lynch's Blue Velvet is marking it's 20th anniversary, and they'll be screening a newly restored print here in NYC at Film Forum for the next two weeks, which I am probably going to go and see this weekend.
I'm a fan of the film, though I have to admit not a rabid one like the boyfriend is. I am hoping that seeing it in a better context than I have the few times I have seen the film will help, though. I feel like every other time I've tried to watch the film has been for a class and/or I've been hopelessly distracted by something or other. So sitting down in a theater and with other "cineastes" and watching it in hushed reverence sounds hopeful.
