The Leak

So Bush's approval has dropped to 35%, and even though you wouldn't know it by the way the media is handling the story, look at these numbers:

HOW IMPORTANT TO THE NATION IS THE CIA LEAK MATTER?

CIA Leak
Great importance - 51%
Some importance - 35%
Little/no importance - 12%

Clinton-Lewinsky (1/98)
Great importance - 41%
Some importance - 21%
Little/no importance - 37%

Whitewater (3/94)
Great importance - 20%
Some importance - 29%
Little/no importance - 45%

Iran-Contra (2/87)
Great importance - 48%
Some importance - 33%
Little/no importance - 19%

Watergate (5/73; Gallup Poll)
Great importance - 53%
Some importance - 25%
Little/no importance - 22%

So Americans think that the leak is more important than a blowjob (which, good for us, for a change), for which the President was impeached. Yet, turn on the news, and what do you see? Bird flu panic and discussion of Alito's Catholicism. Groan.

Hopefully, with Scooter in court today, we'll start to see more coverage of this. And again I ask, WHERE THE FUCK IS CHENEY? Who the fuck does he think he is, that he can just... disappear ... while his top aide is indicted for a crime, which everyone pretty much assumes he had a part in? Who's going to haul his ass in front of America and make him explain himself? We pay his goddamned salary.
