Scream Again?

Oh goodness. This is probably a horrible idea, but I have to admit that I'd probably go and see a fourth Scream film and, also, I'd probably be excited about it's being made.

Sigh. No, I have no shame.

What can I say, I loved the first and second Scream films, and liked the third enough... it's smart of Neve to stay away, though. There's a good chance it will enter Friday The 13th Part 6 territory of suckitude, even if Kevin Williamson writes it. And Neve is right, there is nowhere for the character of Sydney to go in another film except the loony bin.

They should go with an entirely different cast of characters. The self-referential horror thing has been seriously played out, so I think they should go a little less jokey, more like the first scene of the first film (the infamous Drew Barrymore part, of course).

But really, it's just going to be Scream in name. Without a Deputy Dewey or a Gale Weathers on hand, that's all you've got left.
