That's how long it took me (two minutes!), upon waking this morning, to squeal with delight that I'd be seeing Serenity tonight. Yay! Course, I'm trying to keep my expectations reasonable. As of right now, it's got an 80% approval rating over at Rotten Tomatoes, and I've skimmed both the positive and negative reviews.
Ebert liked it, which makes me happy. He also calls it "a crock" that the show got cancelled, which made me chuckle. And he gives away a slight spoiler I wish I could scrape out of my brain.
Though I did see a HUGE spoiler a couple days ago that I've been working really hard to supress without any success... I know I should just NOT read anything, but... but... sigh.
I hope it's good. I'm sure I'll enjoy it. I just want more to get made. Or, honestly, I'd like it even more if the show just got picked up again. There's a good case made for Joss to stay with his TV roots over here, and I can't really argue with the writer. Joss is a Television God, and I worry that his serialized storytelling genius will get suprssed by film-length constraints. But I wish him success with all he wants to do, because the man's brought me more hours of good times than any other artist.
So... how's $50 million sound for this weekend? Make it happen, people.
