One of the downsides of living in NYC: I never get to go to any of the concerts I want to. They all seem to sell out in a matter of milliseconds. Happened with the last Radiohead show (I am still heartbroken about missing that), happened with the Nine Inch Nails show, happened with Tori Amos.
But I've had a string of good luck lately, and have three concerts I'll be going to in the next couple of months. It's a celebration, bitches!
I am seeing Sufjan (my Sufjan) Stevens on a week from Sunday, whom, in case you've not noticed, I am obsessed with. My roommate got us tickets to see The Decemberists in October, and just yesterday I shocked myself by being successful with Ticketmaster, the usual cause of my ticketing downfalls, and scoring tickets to see Death Cab For Cutie a week or so later in October.
I'm still in a state of shock at succeeding with Ticketmaster. They always dick me over. Does this mean Death Cab are over? Is this Seth Cohen's fault? Should I write a strongly worded letter to Fox Networks to cease and desist with their O.C. Soundtracks? Well, whatever, I've never gotten to see Death Cab perform and their last record, Transatlanticism, is incredible. Overexposure does not worry me!
