A happy 33 (the Jesus year!) to actor Daryl McCormack today -- while there are obviously far far far less-safe-for-work but more-exiciting-for-my-pants gifs that I could be posting from his breakout movie Good Luck to You, Leo Grande, given how much skin he flashes therein, I'm keeping things decent instead, mainly because if I fall down that rabbit-hole for a film I've never properly giffed before we'll never be done with this post. I could gif all day! And it's Oscar nomination morning and I'm distracted watching all the people who care about such things telling me what "matters" in there. Off the top of my head -- I am annoyed that Ethan Hawke got a Best Actor nomination for that gay minstrel show he put on in Blue Moon, and pretty amused that Wicked For Good didn't get a single nomination lol. Now my pals at the This Had Oscar Buzz podcast can cover that movie! Any thoughts on the nominations from y'all? (No I will not be doing an entire post about them, other than this.)

Why no love for UNIVERSAL LANGUAGE or SORRY, BABY
Universal Language is far far too interesting and good a movie for the likes of the Oscars.
Also I need to re-watch SB because I wasn't nuts about it when I watched it at Sundance last year, but I was admittedly in the middle of watching a billion movies right then so it deserves another go
SINNERS coulda had 18 nominations, O'Connell and Steinfeld were right there. #kiddingnotkidding
As mixed as I am on Sinners overall I would have loved nominations for either of those performances as well! There's a lot of great stuff in that movie - I just think there's a lot of lousy (including Michael B Jordan's middling performance) mucking it all up
