"I too quit smoking (2013) AND find this type of pictures cool. Also, PSA: if you're feeling like you want to start smoking again, just remind yourself "I do not want my body and house to stink like stale horseshit", then go drink one more glass of water to entertain your hands and lips. Congrats, btw."--- Anonymous congratulates us on another year of not smoking, which we celebrated with an enormous photo-dump of sexy smoking pictures as we're wont to do, annually. .

A PLACE IN THE SUN

Poseidon Adventure
Debbie Reynolds is fabulous in What's the Matter With Helen too. My favorite Winters performance is in The Diary of Anne Frank as Petra van Daan.
I kinda love her in Wild in the Streets
Poseidon Adventure after her heroic swim, and she died!
as a kid, I first noticed her in Poseidon Adventure, and then in Pete's Dragon. As an adult I've loved her in too many things to count.
Cannot possibly narrow it to one because there are the times where she gave beautifully observed controlled performances and then times where she left her inner ham fly very free and gave us a "SHELLEY WINTERS" performance. I love both. Then on occasion she mixed the two together-The Poseidon Adventure is one of those times. Plus there are the early sex kitten years were she is different again.
When I hear her name Poseidon Adventure is the first thing that comes to mind so that's a no brainer but of her other work
Blonde bombshell period:
Frenchie (1950)
Larceny (1948)
Solidly controlled dramatic work:
Executive Suite (1954)-her role is small but she's very affecting.
The Chapman Report (1962)
A Death of Innocence (1971)
The Diary of Anne Frank (1959)
Sorta Shelley but more disciplined:
Wives and Lovers (1963)
Tennessee Champ (1954)
Mambo (1954)
The Shelley we all know and love:
What's the Matter with Helen? (1971)
Buona Sera, Mrs. Campbell (1968)
