Extremely happy to say that I enjoyed the hell out of Tim Burton's 36-years-in-the-making Beetlejuice Beetlejuice -- head on over to Pajiba now to read my review now or even better after you've gone to see the movie in the theater yourself. I hope it makes a heap of money this weekend because this is a "legacy sequel" done right. Even if I really hate the term "legacy sequel." The movie might be all over the place but that's totally true to the wacky spirit of the original -- people complained the same thing about the original and yet I have watched that movie enough times to have it memorized from start to finish. Bring on the Winona-ssaince!

I am a child of the 80's and a bit of a fan of the original but I couldn't be less interested in this and i'm not sure why,I like the cast but it's Burton who puts me off,I haven't enjoyed a film of his since Sleepy Hollow 25 yrs ago..
I’m not a fan of Burton’s movies. The last one I saw was Datk Shadows (2012) which was abysmal. But I think need up seeing BetelgeuseBetelgeuse. The best thing I can say is “I didn’t hate it” but I never laughed either. Same old schtick.
I had a blast at this (saw it in IMAX), and the icing for me was watching this cast obviously having the time of their lives working together.
I also clocked the music use from another classic film at the end so I was expecting a jump scare :)
