These photos of fresh besties Jonathan Groff and Daniel Radcliffe (who just starred together, and won Tonys together, in Merrily We Roll Along on Broadway) visiting with the star of the Sufjan Stevens ballet-musical Illinoise (which also won a Tony) Ricky Ubeda (he plays the Sufjan surrogate) have totally made my day. There are more photos over here with more of the show's cast but these two are the ones. Groff's nerd-out is delighting me so hard. I saw the show twice -- once at the Armory and then again on my birthday after it had moved to Broadway -- and I'd go again if I could. It's absolute magic. The show runs through August 10th so y'all still have a chance to make it if you haven't!

I saw it, too, mid-May. If you like dance, go to the show and walk out on a natural high. Short and sweet, just one more reason this last season on Broadway was awesome. Glad it's lasted a while.
Been obsessed with Ricky since he won "So You Think You Can Dance." Glad he is getting work years later. His dance with Travis Wall at the People's Playhouse is available on YouTube and is simply a staggering work of art and chemistry.
Surprised that, in the number of Groff posts, none of them have mentioned the release of A Nice Indian boy. I mean, it is a movie and Jason still does reviews?!
Also, some of the late performances of Merrily We Roll Along were filmed, which was no big secret, but apparently a filmed version will be released sometime later this year. I'm looking forward to that, even though I never got the 'musical gay theater' gene everyone else seems to share, and wish more Broadway performances were available in cinema's, in the same way so many of the UK National Theater ones are.
