It might not have gotten any Oscar nominations and it might not have won any of the BAFTAs it was nominated for and it might not be getting a physical media release here in the U.S. but my favorite movie of 2023, Andrew Haigh's All of Us Strangers, doesn't need any of that because it's already a goddamned classic and it will outlive and outshine 95% of anything else made in 2023. And at least we can watch it on Hulu now -- it just hit the streamer today. So go watch it, and then leave it playing on repeat in the background of your life so somebody will notice there's interest and maybe we can at least change the "no physical media" thing. (Come to the rescue, Criterion!) That's the only one I really care about. Whatever -- I'm used to it taking time for my beloveds to find their place in the world. I made my peace with it long, long ago! Just go watch the movie, and then read my review, and then we can cry and cry more together over the beauty and the heartbreak of Haigh's making.

I NEED a BluRay of this movie. I don't need it on Hulu. sigh.
We saw it last night on HULU & were devastated. It galls me that someone like Ryan Gosling gets an Academy nomination over Paul Mescal & says everything about the shallowness that Hollywood can display.
Fox Searchlight botched the theatrical release of this gem and failed to follow up with a decent "for your consideration" program for the Academy. Shame on them for not realizing this film's potential.
I agree with you Troy. I am very curious about this movie but I don't have Hulu. I didn't think anyone but me still watched bluray. Robert, Ryan is better known and maybe he just has a better PR person
Such a wonderful film, deserved all the Oscars in the world.
I don't even watch Bluray (just the basic type of DVDs), much less streaming! Also extremely mad this is not getting a physical release.
I FINALLY saw this today. I really have nothing to add that your beautifully written Pajiba review didn't already say - other than I have never been so gutted by such an accurate and queer portrayal of grief and loneliness. I ugly cried, and it dredged up how I used to dream sweetly of my husband who had passed, and how shattering it was when I woke from those dreams.
This movie is so effing epic.

What a really weird thing to say about a role that garnered very many "best in show" reviews in a movie that a bajillion people saw and liked very much. And for an actor whose Oscar noms have come in typically non-Oscar-baity roles at that (small indie, musical, broad comedy).
And this is coming from someone who thinks ALL OF US STRANGERS is the best movie of the year and would've nominated BOTH Mescal and Bell for Oscars. Gosling remains on the short list however.
