There was a lot of chat last week thanks to a viral Twitter thread about who was hotter, Al Pacino or Robert De Niro -- I made my pick known, but then this photo of De Niro with Harvey Keitel on the set of Mean Streets entered the chat and... well it cemented my choice of De Niro, really. But I did feel like opening another question up:
Anyway it's a good morning to coincidentally be talking about Scorsese things because the trailer for his new movie Killers of the Flower Moon just happened to drop! It's out in October (really hoping for an NYFF screening) and man alive does it look like a fucking movie. Looking at this footage makes me feel like I haven't seen a proper movie in a lifetime.

Yes, Lily Gladstone! She was a freshmen at the University of Montana when I was a grad student back in those dim, dead days of 2005. I wrote a documentary play about what it was like to be queer in Montana and she was one of the actors. She's a genius and a really lovely person and I've been so proud of and happy for her as her star rises!
