Jake's Beard To the Rescue

Yes yet another review dropping today! I told you I have been busy. Head over to Pajiba to read my thoughts on Guy Ritchie's The Covenant, the Afghanistan war movie starring Jake Gyllenhaal that despite Jake and that beard I was very much not looking forward to watching. And yet... it's not bad? I didn't hate it? Perhaps it's the "going in with basement low expectations" thing but I actually found this a solid piece of drama. Somebody else can write the think-piece about how it (in vain) tries to be apolitical, but for what it is it's good enough. But do I think I'll ever spend much time thinking about it again? I do not. Which is why I am going to dump several pictures of Jake looking hot in the movie here and now before this movie drifts off into nothingness. Hit the jump for those...

Jake was on Jimmy Kimmel last night looking amazing. Clean shaven, short hair, great pants and shirt and looking to me about 5 or so years younger than he's looked recently. He was jolly and fun and laughing and all out adorable. And Kimmel got the audience screaming by showing pictures and video of Jake's shirtless flexing during that filming of big fight that made the rounds of the internet lately. You would have been entranced.

I think a big part of the reason that Jake's had as long a career as he has (one that shows no signs of stopping) is how good he is on talk shows. Obviously being hot and talented helps too! But by all accounts he's kind of difficult to work with, while he's SMASHING on talk shows. Charming and funny and sparkling. He's a very good, hard-working, professional promoter, and that's got to keep the suits happy.

He was on Kelly Clarkson talking about peeing on people (think The Paperboy), if that floats your boat...

As long as I understand Jake’s Beard charm I think he looks very good clean shaven. Obviously this consideration could be unappreciated via social network
