Everything You Ever Need To Know About Life...

... you can learn from:

Pat: Mrs. Trefoile, were you an actress?
Mrs. Trefoile: God was good. He led me from that evil.
Pat: Evil?
Mrs. Trefoile: Yes. A pit of evil! A place for the lost and the damned! The devil's entertainment... God's anathema! It is a painful memory to me, but by the grace of our Lord and the inspired inspiration of my late husband, no more than a memory. I keep it as a harsh reminder of what I was, of what I escaped!

The one and the only Tallulah Bankhead was
born 121 years ago today. Praise be her name!
What's your favorite Tallulah performance?

My favorite is when she played herself on the Lucy-Desi Comedy Hour!

I was going to say the same thing. She gives a master class on comedy in that episode. I'm sure you know Bette Davis was originally set to be the guest star and backed out. I love Bette but doubt she would have been better.

Lifeboat

Absolutely "Lifeboat". It's a great but very grounded performance, in which she never plays to the camera or does anything other than let the audience in on how she would react to being thrown into that situation. Which is not to say she doesn't drink, or flirt, or primp, and she does laugh that huge laugh of hers - but all within the scope of the script.
