Emmys For Everybody!

Congratulations from all of us here at MNPP (i.e. me and my shadow) to all of the Emmy nominees -- people like Nicholas Hoult in The Great, for instance. You hear me, Nicky? I said congratulations. You can feel free to dump that bottle of champagne over me in slow motion now, I will allow it. Anyway see all of the nominees over here -- as reported yesterday I have to run offline for the next couple of hours so y'all tell me what you think is good and what you think is bad about the Emmy nominations in the comments here and I will listen to you when I get back! I already complained about a couple of snubs on Twitter a bit ago (Julia Roberts and Michelle Pfeiffer to be exact) but there's good stuff -- The White Lotus ruled and I am terribly happy to see Mike White have such success at last, and then there's our favorite person in the world...

Lynskey was easily my favorite nomination. The fact she and Kate Winslet debuted in the same brilliant film so many years ago and have had very different career trajectories...it's good to see Lynskey finally getting some recognition other than playing fourth fiddle to Charlie Sheen on that Chuck Lorre pile of nonsense. LaPfeiffer was of course the biggest snub. Two of my favorite shows, "Heartstoppers" and "Sex Education," are being submitted at different Emmys, so no snubs there yet.

Man, when they like a show they really like it. I like Hacks and Ted Lasso as much as anybody but there are definitely nominations for actors in both those shows that leave me scratching my head.

I'm very torn between Colman Domingo vs Tom Pelphrey (sp?). I love Colman but don't watch Euphoria. But Tom is so brilliant on Ozark I'd love to see him win.
