Everything You Ever Need To Know About Life...

... you can learn from:

Pink Flamingos (1972)

Crackers: No one sends you a turd
and expects to live!

Unbelievably the 50-year-old John Waters film where a drag queen nibbled and gnawed on a bowel movement has now as of today entered the Criterion Collection with a gorgeous 4K restoration -- we live in the best of times and the worst of times but this thing here's one of the former for sure! You can pick up your copy here -- the special features on this disc are stellar, including the full-length 1998 documentary Divine Trash, which I highly recommend; hell it could have been released as its own disc!

I haven't had the chance to watch the Baltimore walking tour of the film's locations that's on the disc yet but I'm taking personal credit for this extra, since that time I met John after a screening that was the one question I asked him -- namely where the hell the spot was where Divine ate the poop. I couldn't find it when I was in Baltimore the last time, and now I will be able to! Huzzah! Anyway this is the best possible way to cap Pride Month 2022 -- everybody cook yourselves up some eggs, go read my piece on the film's anniversary at Pajiba, get your asshole a'singin, and go scream "Lick my balls, mama!" at every stranger you meet!
