Everything You Ever Need To Know About Life...

... you can learn from:

The Wizard of Oz (1939)

The Wizard: And remember, my sentimental friend, that a heart is not judged by how much you love, but by how much you are loved by others.

The actor Frank Morgan, forever remembered as the Wizard himself in The Wizard of Oz (not to mention the other four roles he plays in the movie) was born one-hundred-and-thirty-two years ago today, which means the year 1890 to those math-impaired among you. Whenever Morgan pops up in a different movie -- like say as the boss of The Shop Around the Corner -- all I can think is, "Wizard!" Anyway I saw it was Morgan's birthday literally five minutes after reading this lovely piece on The Wizard of Oz over at The Film Experience today, where they are celebrating the centennial of Judy Garland (which is June 10th) all month, and once two Oz things made themselves known in such a short span I knew the world was speaking to me to Oz it up. So consider yerself Ozzed!
