Good Morning, World

The one and the only Rudolph Valentino, the original cinematic (or is that sin-a-matic, hardy har) male sex symbol, was born on this day in the year 1895. And even here one-hundred-and-twenty-six years on it's easy as easy does to see why -- he makes my parts go pitter-patter anyway. The so-called Latin Lover -- born "Rodolfo Alfonso Raffaello Pierre Filiberto Guglielmi di Valentina d'Antonguella" (probably a good thing he shortened that)...

... started in the movies at the age of 19 after bouncing around NYC and San Francisco for awhile as a "taxi dancer" (look it up), but it wasn't until 100 years ago, 1921, that he became Valentino, with The Sheik. And five years later he was dead, from appendicitis. Can you imagine? That really is some James Dean shit right there. Anyway I don't know what movie this here beach scene is from but it's a doozy; hit the jump for more gifs and the video itself...
