Good Morning, World

I learned a new slang word this morning! It's British, and it's "doggers" and it is for people who engage in public sex. Public sex is "dogging" as well, I guess? I'd never heard that before. Now I'm not implying that either Russell Tovey or Luke Evans are homosexual fellatio exhibitionists or anything of the sort here, mind you. I just was about to call them "doggers" in this post cuz they, as seen...

... by these respective Instagram photos posted that they each separately posted in the past 24 hours, are clearly "big fans of dogs"... but a quick google of the term set me straight. I will not call Russell Tovey and Luke Evans "Gay Brit Doggers" as planned. Alas. But I will make them compete for your affections!

While I've watched both in some TV shows/movies, I generally kinda like Luke & dislike Tovey 😏

Tovey wins for me because there's a second dog in the chair behind him.

For the record (I'm fairly sure you know this but not everyone will); dogging, like swinging, is a straight people thing.

Anon -- I actually didn't know it was straight-specific, thanks for clearing that up. Do gay Brits just use cruising? Cottaging? I really hate the term "cottaging", it makes me think of cottage cheese and I like cottage cheese but there is NOTHING arousing about cottage cheese haha

I’m watching the LE detective show. It’s pretty good. The villain is quite a character. But it recently occurred to me, straight male actors get so much praise for playing gay. But gay male actors don’t ever get any kudos for playing straight. It’s assumed. I mean, Tom Cruise will never be recognized for the major work he does.

You should know, then, that in Russell Tovey's show Being Human, one episode featured his werewolf character running through the woods trying to find a safe place to turn and instead running into a bunch of doggers gathered for the night, who assume he's there to participate (it's S3E1).
