What About My Life?

.
I suppose the fact that I was already crying on the subway this morning (you know, just about... gesticulates wildly) made an easy mark of me for the Ammonite trailer but I promise you, having just finished watching the thing two minutes ago, I am writing these words through a blur of tears. Oh man this one's gonna do me in! Ammonite, in case you haven't been paying attention, is the new film from God's Own Country director Francis Lee, and stars Kate Winslet and Saoirse Ronan as two old-timey ladies in knickers and whatnots who fall for each other along a stretch  of sandy turbulent coastline...

... I was a little surprised by how much I thought of Portrait of a Lady on Fire while watching the trailer, but then I was surprised I was surprised because duh. Here's the trailer:

I shared the face-melty poster yesterday -- Ammonite is set to hit theaters on November 13th, which by my estimation is ten days after the election here in the US, and so... well I can't even venture to wager what sort of mindset we'll be in right then. The way things are going who knows. I just hope, hope hope, hope is such a small word for what I hope, that we'll all feel a great tremendous weight removed from us by November 13th, and Ammonite will come along and offer us a nice pleasant emotional distraction. In summation -- hey James McArdle!

I’m with you JA. I can’t think about it, it’s too much. We have to come together and get him out.
