Dear White People

.
.
Today seemed like a good day for me to mostly shut the hell up and let the conversation around Black Lives Matter (donate here) and our fascistic police force / shit President do its own talking. That said I did manage to throw a little topical love this afternoon towards the tremendously chilling scene in Jordan Peele's film Get Out seen above, and Betty Gabriel's tremendously chilling work therein, for today's episode of "Great Moments in Horror Actressing" over at The Film Experience -- click on over for that. And then go fucking riot.

By the way I am not even going to publish any of your racist comments, so fuck right the fuck off racists -- you're not welcome here. This might be a free country but this blog sure ain't. Your voices can go find some other gutter to crawl and die in.

I grew up in the 60s and 70s and thought my generation would really turn things around based on what we saw on the news every evening. How did we go from electing an African-American as president to the state of things today? Not living a life of hate I can't comprehend it at all. I was raised to believe we are ALL the same- we just are the same in different ways (skin color, religion, orientation, etc.) - that's the true beauty of the human race! Let's get leaders in office who respect all races and act and speak for the whole human race! Be safe, be courageous, be united.

I thought I had become too Old to be incited to Riot, but this shitshow of an Administration and the systematic destruction of everything that had ever been accomplished to right some wrongs and to fuel more Hatred and resurrect a grotesque spectacle of Racism openly and in the most inhumane fashion, is just Too Much. It's interesting how the Racists, MAGA Maniacs and Lunatic Fringe seem to show up to Blogs and Social Media sites... guess Human Cockroaches are very similar to the Insect kind.

We deserve to feel safe in this country. I am a black, gay man who struggles with trust issues which is why I keep to myself mostly. But some part of me wishes we live in a world where we stand together as people and treat each other with respect and decency. I'm tired, I'm frustrated, and this has to stop. I hope what's happening around the world is a wake-up call to people to say, "Hey, there needs to be a change." We have been saying that for the past few decades and I think now, people will finally shut up and listen for once.
