A happy 74 to John Waters today! In an alternate timeline where The Plague didn't happen I would be celebrating his birthday WITH John tonight -- he does an annual birthday stage-show, and I was finally going to go this year... for now it's been rescheduled in June, we'll see. (Mink Stole was gonna be there!!!) Anyway a wonderful way to celebrate the man would be to watch the above video (no I have no idea why all of the text is backwards) and get the opening song from Polyester (which just got the Criterion treatment last year) stuck in your head and then at 7pm when everybody claps out their windows we all sing "Franciii-iii-iiine" out to the people instead. A special moment for the Dreamland loving essential workers out there -- they deserve recognition too, dammit.
