I am seeing Downhill, the remake of this 2014 masterpiece from The Square director Ruben Östlund, tonight -- it stars Julia Louis Dreyfus and Will Ferrell in the leading roles of the parents who have a literal avalanche come between them. Here is my brief review of the original film -- in case me just using my least favorite word "masterpiece" wasn't clue in enough I liked that original a whole lot, and worry that Downhill has, you know, an uphill battle to climb. At least they were smart enough to carry on over Game of Thrones' beautifully ginger-bearded Kristofer Hivju from the original.) We'll see tonight.
