Good Morning, World

.
A happy 58th birthday to David Duchovny today! Here are a few gifs from his 1991 movie The Rapture, which stars Mimi Rogers as a Wanton Woman who confronts the Christian version of the end of the world and has doubts, so many doubts! Duchovny plays her boy-toy with the long locks, as he so often did before The X-Files came along and rescued him from a life of Skinemax. I watched The Rapture a ton when it hit home video - not just for all of the sexy stuff (although that didn't hurt) but because I was wrestling myself with the religion I was raised in and this weird weird movie asked a lot of questions I was looking for answers to. I haven't seen it in many years - have any of you? I'm curious if it holds up - I remember it feeling dated by the late 90s but perhaps it's spun around again, who knows, time's funny. All that seriousness aside the time has come for butts - hit the jump for some Duchovny birthday suit action...

The Rapture is a great movie - any movie that uses religion as a scare tactic or to make the characters question everything makes for good viewing. It has Mimi Rogers - who I think was married to Tom Cruise at the time.

Love "X-Files" as I do, I still regret Duchovny never found a home in movies. And "The Rapture" remains a lone star in an amazingly thin crowd of movies about religion - let alone taking it to the apocalypse, which "The Rapture" actually does, bless it (so to speak).
